Mandakini Opens Up About Early Bollywood Days, Reveals She Was Not Paid for Several Films

Mumbai, Sep 17 : Veteran actor Mandakini has spoken about her early years in the Hindi film industry, recalling a period when professional arrangements were often informal and revealing that she did not receive payment for several films.

In an interview reported on September 16, the actor said she had worked on around 16 to 17 films for which she was not paid. She also described the working environment of that period and how professional relationships within the industry often influenced projects.

Mandakini, who became widely known through her work in Hindi cinema, reflected on how the industry operated during the early stage of her career. According to her account, contracts and financial arrangements were not always as formal as they are today.

She recalled instances where she agreed to participate in projects without receiving a conventional fee, particularly when filmmakers or colleagues approached her.
