Manipal Health Reports 31% Rise in Quarterly Profit on Strong Demand for Complex Care

Higher hospital occupancy and growing demand for advanced medical procedures helped the Indian healthcare operator improve its first-quarter performance.

India, Aug. 21: Manipal Health Enterprises reported a nearly 31% increase in adjusted first quarter profit after tax, supported by stronger demand for complex medical procedures and improved hospital occupancy, according to a Reuters report published on August 20.

The healthcare operator’s performance reflects growing demand for specialised treatment as patients increasingly seek advanced medical care at large hospital networks.

Higher occupancy levels contributed to the improvement in the company’s quarterly results, while complex procedures also provided support to revenue and profitability.

The latest performance comes amid continued expansion in India’s private healthcare sector, where hospitals are investing in specialised services, medical technology and infrastructure to meet rising patient demand.

The growth in complex care procedures also highlights the increasing role of tertiary and quaternary hospitals in treating patients requiring advanced interventions and multidisciplinary medical support.

India’s healthcare sector has continued to attract investment as demand for quality medical services rises across major cities and emerging markets. Hospital operators are also exploring expansion opportunities to increase access to specialised treatment.

Manipal Health’s quarterly performance indicates that demand for advanced hospital services remains an important growth driver for India’s organised healthcare industry.
