Jammu, 20-12-2023 : On December 20, a seismic event rattled the region of Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir, registering a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale. The National Center for Seismology (NSC) reported that the earthquake occurred at precisely 11:57 am local time. Providing detailed information, the NCS shared on its platform, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.4, Occurred on 20-12-2023, 11:57:16 IST, Lat: 33.28 & Long: 76.70, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir.”

The tremor, while moderate in magnitude, serves as a reminder of the seismic activity in the region. The depth of the earthquake was reported to be 5 kilometers, and its epicenter was pinpointed in the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir.
