Jammu, 13-04-2024 : Former Deputy CM and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta, in a meeting at Gorkha Nagar highlighted the achievements of Modi Government, which ensured Justice and welfare of the people of every weak and neglected society.  He emphasized the dedicated efforts of the Modi Government towards the development of Jammu and Kashmir following the revocation of Article 370. Kavinder Gupta spoke while addressing a meeting organised by BJP OBC Morcha at Gorkhanagar, Jammu.
Kavinder Gupta on this occasion described that the people of Gorkha Samaj, who were denied Residentship, thus rendered them ineligible for Govt jobs and voting rights by the previous Congress-NC Govts, have been granted Residentship and also granted reservation under OBC Category.  Which is a big relief for the Gotkha samaj in J&K, Gupta said. He assured the Gorkha Samaj that Modi Govt will also take possible step to regularised the Gorkha colony in the name of inhabitants as per prevailing rules.
Sunil Prajapati, President BJP OBC Morcha, J&K UT at this occasion spoke that Modi Govt has paid great attention towards the sections of societies who were neglected by the previous Govts.  He described that under the mission Sabka Saath, sabka viswas and sabka vikass, Modi Govt has granted reservations to the socially and educationally backward sections of the societies including Gorkhas amongst others under the OBC Category.  The other castes that have been granted OBC reservation are the Jat Community, Saini Community, West Pakisati Refugees, and Swarnkars among the 15 newly added 15 OBC castes.  The OBCs have also been provided reservation in the Municipalities and Panchayat elections.  Accordingly, a few representatives from Gorkhas will also be elected under OBC Reservation.
