Modi Govt reviving India’s cultural heritage: Sat Sharma

Jammu, 19 February 2026: Sat Sharma CA, President, BJP Jammu & Kashmir and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), released the book “Fostering of Hindutva in J&K: Historical and Cultural Perspective” at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

The book is authored by S.K. Sharma, Former Commissioner of Income Tax and Co-Convener of the Nanaji Deshmukh Library and Documentation Centre. The programme was attended by senior party leaders including Vice-President Rekha Mahajan, General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, All Cell Incharge Ved Sharma, District President Naresh Singh Jasrotia, Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, Department of Library Incharge Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, and other senior functionaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma described books as the “civilizational memory and intellectual conscience of society,” emphasizing that literature has the enduring power to shape generations and define the course of nations. He lauded the BJP’s Library Department for building a rich repository of rare and valuable works that document ideological, cultural, and historical narratives. He said that such initiatives are instrumental in preserving the intellectual heritage of Jammu & Kashmir and strengthening the foundation of nationalist thought.

While lauding the author for intensive efforts, Sat Sharma further highlighted that the book offers a comprehensive perspective on the historical and cultural evolution of the region and will serve as a guiding light for the youth to understand their civilizational roots. He underscored that Hindutva represents not merely a belief system but a broader cultural and geographical identity that has historically unified diverse communities of the region.

Acknowledging the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, Sat Sharma said that under the Modi Government, unprecedented efforts have been made to revive, preserve, and promote the rich cultural and historical legacy of Jammu & Kashmir along with the entire nation. He noted that initiatives aimed at restoring heritage sites, promoting indigenous traditions, and strengthening national integration reflect the government’s commitment to cultural renaissance.

Author S.K. Sharma, while speaking about his work, stated that the book conveys a message of unity and geographical integration, urging the younger generation to remain connected to their roots and to collectively contribute towards a stronger and culturally integrated nation.
