Gorkha community delegation meets Kavinder, Lauds Modi Govt for abrogating Art 370

JAMMU, JUL 31: The prevalence of the drugs menace has emerged as a significant concern in the country, impacting individuals, families, and society at large. Recognizing the gravity of this issue, the Modi Government has adopted a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy, exemplifying its firm commitment to address drug trafficking and abuse.
This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister in a statement issued here today.
Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent address during the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Kavinder highlighted the need for collective action to eradicate drug-related issues from society. He commended the innovative measures taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Government in addressing the drug menace, recognizing their proactive approach in tackling the challenge.
Kavinder said Modi Government has taken a resolute stance against drug abuse and smuggling which reflects its dedication to ensuring the well-being and security of the nation. Under this visionary initiative, the Government has taken proactive measures to combat the scourge of drugs and create a society free.
He mentioned that as part of this formidable initiative, all regional units of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Anti-Narcotics Task Forces (ANTFs) in presence of Union Home Minister have recently collaboratively destroyed an astounding 8,76,554 kilograms of seized drugs worth approximately Rs 9,580 crore from June 1, 2022, till July 15 of this year. This remarkable achievement surpasses the target by more than 11 times, underscoring the Government’s resolute efforts to eliminate the drug menace, he added.
Kavinder Gupta emphasized that a drugs-free India is not just a vision but an achievable reality, thanks to the concerted efforts and ‘Zero Tolerance’ approach adopted by the Modi Government. He affirmed that this mission will continue with unwavering zeal and determination until the goal of a drugs-free India is accomplished.
The senior BJP leader also called upon all citizens, stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies to join hands in support of the Government’s endeavor to eradicate drugs from society. He emphasized the significance of collective responsibility in building a safe and prosperous nation, free from the scourge of drugs.
Meanwhile, a deputation of Gorkha community headed by Karuna Chhetri, District Vice President Women Wing BJP J&K today met Kavinder Gupta and conveyed thanks to the Modi government for providing citizenship rights to the Gorkha community at par with citizens of the country by repealing the Article 370. She informed that the Gorkha community is organizing a mammoth programme on 5th of August, 2023, the day Article 370 was abrogated from the erstwhile state.
She requested Kavnider Gupta to mark their present and make aware the whole community about the futuristic policies of Modi government at the Centre for the welfare of the community members.
