Mohit Chauhan Releases ‘Meri Aawaaz’ for Street Dogs, Inspired by Supreme Court Ruling | WATCH

Singer turns his music into a mission for India’s stray animals, urging compassion and empathy

Mumbai, Dec  30 : Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan, renowned for soulful hits like Tum Se Hi, has composed a new song, Meri Aawaaz, dedicated to street dogs in India. The inspiration behind the track came after he learned about the Supreme Court’s directive earlier this year regarding stray dogs in public spaces.

Speaking to ANI, Chauhan said, “When I heard about the court verdict, it pained me deeply. These animals cannot speak for themselves, and it is our moral duty to care for the speechless.” Observing the struggles of stray dogs motivated him to channel his emotions through music. “They live in very tough conditions. As humans, we have intelligence and a higher consciousness. It is our responsibility to help those who cannot help themselves,” he added.

Meri Aawaaz is designed to raise awareness about the plight of stray animals. “This song comes from them, to humans. Life is uncertain, and we only have a limited time to do good. Music can help convey that message and spark compassion,” Chauhan said.

The singer emphasised the importance of respecting all forms of life. “We should treat every being with respect. Life is fleeting, and we are here for a purpose. Using our time and talents for good deeds is what makes us truly human,” he added.

The song is a collaboration between Mohit Chauhan, who composed and performed it, and lyricist Prarthana Gahilote, aiming to give a voice to the voiceless and inspire empathy among humans.
