Nami Dogri Sanstha Felicitates Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas for Pathbreaking Contribution to Maa Boli Dogri
Dogri Ramayan Mala and Duggar Talkie Mark New Era in Preservation of Dogra Heritage
JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23: In a historic milestone for Dogri language, literature, and music, Dr. Nasib Singh Manhas, a renowned Dogri writer, artist, and filmmaker, was felicitated by Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) for his extraordinary contributions towards promoting Dogri art and culture. The grand event, held at a jam-packed Abhinav Theatre in Jammu, witnessed the release of the first-ever Dogri Ramayan Mala — a unique composition of 108 Chaupai presented in both video and paath format. Written, sung, and produced entirely by Dr. Manhas, the project marks a pioneering effort to showcase the richness of Dogri language through devotional literature and music.
Adding further glory to the occasion, Dr. Manhas also launched his new YouTube channel “Duggar Talkie”, dedicated to the promotion of Dogri art, culture, heritage, and language. The channel aims to serve as a platform for showcasing the diverse traditions of the Dogra community while inspiring the younger generation to embrace the sweetness and simplicity of their mother tongue.
Recognizing his unwavering dedication, Nami Dogri Sanstha felicitated Dr. Manhas with a Mata Ki Chunri and a bouquet, extending heartfelt wishes for the success of his mission. The dignitaries present praised his efforts, noting that such initiatives not only preserve linguistic heritage but also encourage youth to reconnect with their cultural roots.
Prof. Anupama Sharma, Patron of Nami Dogri Sanstha, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President of NDS, Narinder Singh Chib, Life Member NDS, along with Randhir Singh Raipuria, Ravi Sharma, Kamal Sharma, and Meena Manhas, were present on the occasion.
