Bihar, Dec 04 : Former Bihar Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav was unanimously elected Deputy Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar announced Yadav’s election during the pre-lunch sitting of the house, noting that no other candidate had filed nominations for the post, resulting in an uncontested election. Yadav, who is also serving as the Protem Speaker for the ongoing Assembly session, will now assume the responsibilities of the Deputy Speaker.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary proposed Yadav’s name for the post, which was seconded by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary. Speaker Prem Kumar expressed his gratitude and congratulated Yadav on his unanimous election, highlighting the smooth and consensual process.
