Jammu, 07.08.22: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations J&K has been selected by the All India Confederation, Delhi to host a national level Save Rights, Save Constitution Convention on 16th October at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu. There was informed to the media via a press conference held at the Jammu office by RK Kalsotra, State President Confederation, who was joined by B L Bhardwaj, Gen Secy, Roshan Ch, Adv Susheel Samyal, Ch Imran, Kewal Krishan, Dr Ramesh Kaith,State Coordinators, Tarun Paroch, Balvinder Verma State Coordinators NSYFRK Kalsotra mentioned that these National Conventions are being held all across India for saving the constitutional rights of marginalised sections of the society. The last National Convention was held at New Delhi on 31st July wherein people from all over the country came to take part in it. In this connection, the next convention will be held in Jammu on 16th October. On 9 Oct to strengthen the Social Justice Movement, Buddha Maha Sammelan will also be held at Up-Lucknow. The agenda of the National Convention is Save Constitution, Save Rights and to unite 1 crore to 1.50 crores social activities in the country to save rights.Kalsotra added that there is a deliberate attempt to dilute the Constitution of India and the fundamental rights enshrined in it. It has been noticed recently how the government is playing the communal card to dilute the Fundamental Right of right to religion by targeting the minority communities. There is an active attack on the secularity of the Constitution of India. The minorities in India are facing a constant threat of not being able to exercise their right of religion. There is also an attempt to dilute the provisions of reservation for SC ST OBC communities which are enshrined under article 15 and 16.With privatisation of the public sectors, the government is trying to reduce the nature of reservation in these sectors and sell the assets to the crony capitalists. There is also a massive backlog in the jobs across the nation which is not being fulfilled by the government.The national convention will be a platform to discuss these demands in addition to the demands faced by the marginalised and minority sections in Jammu and Kashmir. The issues concerning non-implementation of reservation in promotions, clearance of backlog, toto implementation of Mandal commission which guarantees 27% reservation for OBCs, implementing SC/ST Atrocities Act in full spirit, dilution of the ST status of the tribals of J&K by inclusion of elite classes, among other national demands like reaervation in higher Judiciary, No to lateral entry, due share as per population under SCP/STP and its full jutilization and to discuss in search of new National Alternative and naming of New Parliament Building on the name of Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr B R Ambedkar will be raised at the convention.Dr Udit Raj, National Chairman Confederation along with Bahujan prominent leaders cum social activists of the country will take part in the National Convention.
