NBCC in Talks to Develop 139-Acre Mega Project in Seychelles

High level delegation discusses housing, hospitality and social infrastructure plans

India, Feb 24 : State owned NBCC is in discussions to undertake a large-scale infrastructure venture in Seychelles, involving development across a 139-acre island parcel.

According to an official statement issued Monday, Seychelles Vice-President Sebastien Pillay visited the company’s headquarters in India, leading a senior delegation for talks with NBCC Chairman and Managing Director K P Mahadeva Swamy and other officials.

During the meeting, company representatives delivered detailed presentations outlining a comprehensive master plan for the island. The proposal includes affordable social housing, premium villas, hospitality and leisure zones, a sports arena, and other civic amenities.

The discussions build on earlier engagements between the two sides. In January, NBCC’s CMD had travelled to Seychelles as part of ongoing consultations over potential collaboration.

Officials also highlighted NBCC’s international project experience, including the execution of a 2,000-unit social housing development in Hulhumalé, Maldives. The firm is presently handling construction of the Indian Chancery Building, along with a cultural centre and residential units, in Seychelles.

NBCC operates primarily in project management consultancy and real estate development, with several domestic and overseas assignments.
