NC, Cong exploited J&K’s instability for decades to suit their convenience: Adv. Purnima
JAMMU, September 25: Adv. Purnima Sharma, Spokesperson of BJP J&K and former Deputy Mayor of Jammu, has accused the National Conference (NC) and Congress of exploiting the instability in Jammu and Kashmir for decades to serve their own political interests. She asserted that these parties have continuously misled the people of the region with empty promises and divisive politics, which only perpetuated their hold on power while leaving J&K underdeveloped and neglected.
Addressing a gathering in connection with Assembly poll campaign here today, Purnima Sharma said, “The NC and Congress have long used the turmoil and uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir as a tool to retain control, ignoring the genuine needs and aspirations of the people. Their rule was marked by corruption, inefficiency, and a blatant disregard for public welfare. Instead of bringing peace and development, they preferred to fuel instability to suit their convenience.”
Highlighting the significant changes brought under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she stated that the abrogation of Article 370 was a historic decision that paved the way for true integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the nation. “For the first time, we are witnessing real development, empowerment of women, youth, and marginalized sections, along with security and progress in every sector,” she added.
Purnima further emphasized that the upcoming Assembly elections are crucial for the future of Jammu and Kashmir, urging the people of Jammu to unite and support the BJP. “We need to ensure that the state is not once again handed over to those who exploited its instability for personal gain. The BJP is committed to creating a prosperous and peaceful J&K, where every citizen can thrive,” she said.
Purnima called on the people to place their trust in the BJP, which has a proven track record of development, good governance, and transparent leadership. She expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly polls and continue to work for the welfare and upliftment of Jammu and Kashmir.
