NC Leaders Pay Tribute on Sheikh Abdullah’s 120th Birth Anniversary
Farooq and Omar Abdullah lead party functionaries in honouring NC founder at Naseem Bagh
Srinagar, Dec 5: The National Conference (NC) leadership on Friday observed the 120th birth anniversary of party founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, offering prayers and floral tributes at his mausoleum in Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal.
NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah, party vice president and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather, several MLAs and other functionaries attended the commemorative event and performed Fateha Khawani at the Qaid Mazar.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Farooq Abdullah said the day serves as a reminder of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah’s lifelong struggle for the rights, dignity and empowerment of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He noted that the Sher-e-Kashmir’s vision and policies “continue to inspire generations.”
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior leaders also highlighted Sheikh Abdullah’s historic contributions, stating that his unwavering commitment to justice, unity and public welfare laid the foundation of modern political awakening in the region.
A large gathering of party workers, supporters and functionaries participated in the event, paying rich tributes to the NC founder on his birth anniversary.
