NCGG Launches Capacity-Building Program for 38 J&K Administrative Service Officers

New Delhi, 10-01-2024: The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), an autonomous central government institution, has initiated a comprehensive capacity-building program for 38 officers serving in various capacities within the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, as stated in an official announcement on Wednesday.

The inaugural session was presided over by V Srinivas, Director General of NCGG and Secretary of the Department of Reform and Public Grievance (DARPG). Srinivas highlighted that the capacity-building programs at NCGG, Mussoorie are being conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding between NCGG and the Jammu and Kashmir government. He noted that, to date, 318 officers have participated in these programs at NCGG.

During the address, Srinivas acknowledged the significant progress made in the digital transformation journey of Jammu and Kashmir, with the availability of 1,080 e-services. He emphasized that the training initiatives align with the evolving governance landscape, focusing on technological advancements that empower citizens, ensure accountability, and enhance transparency in daily operations.

Srinivas also delved into the NCGG’s efforts in training officers both nationally and internationally, emphasizing the pivotal role of technology in governance and the necessity of staying updated for effective governance.

Established in 2014 by the central government, NCGG is mandated to train civil servants not only from India but also from other countries. The statement highlighted the center’s successful training of officers from various nations, including Bangladesh, Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia, Gambia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Laos, Vietnam, Bhutan, and Myanmar over the years. The capacity-building program is anticipated to contribute significantly to the skill development and efficiency of officers in the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service.
