NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment and Republican Party of India (Athawale) chief Ramdas Athawale has expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure power in all five states going to Assembly polls.
Speaking about the party’s electoral plans, Athawale said the RPI (A) will contest a limited number of seats while extending support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies across other constituencies. He noted that the party has decided to field candidates on four seats in Assam, is considering three seats in Tamil Nadu, and will contest one seat in Kerala, while backing NDA nominees elsewhere.
He asserted that under the leadership of the BJP, the alliance is well-positioned to form governments in all the poll-bound states, expressing confidence in a favourable outcome.
Separately, Athawale welcomed the Centre’s move to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel, stating that the step would ease the burden on citizens. He added that the government remains committed to inclusive development and continues to prioritise the welfare of all sections of society.
