Neemias Queta Powers Celtics Past 76ers with Career Best Performance
Boston extends strong run as big man dominates paint in 114-98 triumph
BOSTON : Neemias Queta produced a career best display with 27 points and 17 rebounds to guide the Boston Celtics to a commanding 114-98 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night.
The dominant outing marked another milestone in Queta’s breakout season, adding to his growing list of double-doubles. He also played a crucial role in the closing stretch, scoring key baskets in the fourth quarter to steady Boston after Philadelphia briefly trimmed the deficit to six points.
Jaylen Brown matched the offensive intensity with 27 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while Derrick White chipped in 21 points and eight assists. The victory strengthened Boston’s momentum, with the team now winning six of its last seven games.
Philadelphia’s Push Falls Short
Tyrese Maxey paced Philadelphia with 33 points and six assists, and rookie VJ Edgecombe added 23. However, the visitors were unable to sustain their three-game winning streak.
Boston had earlier erased a double digit first quarter deficit with a decisive 15-6 surge, carrying a 62-50 advantage into halftime. Queta set the tone early, collecting 16 points and 10 rebounds before the break.
The 76ers next host the San Antonio Spurs, while the Celtics travel to face the Milwaukee Bucks in their upcoming fixture.
