NEW DELHI, Aug. 31: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducted the NEET-PG 2026 examination on August 30, with medical graduates appearing for the postgraduate entrance test at designated centres across the country.
The examination was held in a single shift, marking an important stage in the admission process for postgraduate medical programmes.
Candidates were required to carry their admit cards and valid identity documents to the examination centres and comply with the prescribed instructions regarding permitted and prohibited items.
The test is used for admission to postgraduate medical courses across participating medical institutions, subject to applicable eligibility and counselling requirements.
The examination also drew attention following reports of disruption at a centre in Jaipur. The PIB Fact Check later clarified that the disruption was linked to an internal power-supply issue and dismissed claims circulating on social media about a question-paper leak.
With the examination completed, candidates will now await further announcements from NBEMS regarding the result and subsequent admission process.
The examination is a key step for medical graduates seeking seats in MD, MS and other postgraduate medical programmes for the 2026 academic cycle.
