NEET UG 2026 Counselling Round 2 to Begin on September 3

MCC releases the next admission schedule for medical aspirants seeking seats under the All India Quota and central institutions.

NEW DELHI, Aug 29: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the schedule for the second round of NEET UG 2026 counselling, with registration set to begin on September 3.

The counselling process will cover candidates seeking undergraduate medical and dental seats under the All India Quota, as well as admissions to deemed and central universities.

The announcement comes after the completion of the first phase of seat allocation, giving candidates who were not allotted seats, or those looking for an upgrade, another opportunity to participate in the admission process.

Applicants will be required to complete registration, pay the prescribed fee and submit their choices within the notified timeline. Candidates who receive a seat will subsequently have to complete the required reporting and admission formalities at the allotted institution.

The counselling process is based on candidates’ NEET UG scores, ranks, eligibility and the availability of seats across participating institutions.

Students are advised to carefully review the official schedule before submitting their choices. They should also keep their academic and identity documents ready to avoid delays during verification.

The second round is expected to be closely followed by medical aspirants as competition for seats remains intense across government, private, deemed and central institutions.

Candidates participating in the process should rely on official MCC notifications for deadlines, fee details, seat allocation rules and reporting requirements.
