Jammu: -05 June: NIFD, Shaping The Future Designers – an institute that has completed its journey of 25 years, graduating the students in the field of creativity, whether it be in fashion, interior, textile, or art and craft.
NIFD organized their Convocation to commemorate the graduating class and to celebrate their 25 years.
The event, which was held on the NIFD campus itself in Karan market, was attended by at least 50 students who have graduated from the institute, the centre managers who played a vital role in shaping NIFD, faculty members, On-campus students, dignitaries, and other guests.
The Chief Guests were none other than but the former Centre Managers of NIFD Dr Bhushan Sharma, Mrs. Pawan Reen, Mrs Gunjan Kohli, and Mrs Mamta Jeena and others present on occasion was Advocate Yashodhan Thakur and Dr. Shavika Gupta.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, which was followed by the Ganesha Pranam followed by a group dance. The whole occasion was celebrated with enthusiasm, the students did a showcase of their costumes in two rounds — Hand Crafted with Love and Summer Day Out on the ramp. The ceremony further moved on with peppy dance performances by students.
The highlight of the program was the presentation ceremony of Degrees and Diplomas to the Graduating batch of Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Art n Craft students.
Mrs. Vanita Thakur the chairperson and founder of NIFD along with Aishwarya Thakur Secretary NIFD Society overwhelmed with emotions as the event was passing on, as she was delighted to see everyone came together and celebrate the institute and reminisce about their journey and time together. She congratulated all the students and wished them all the best for the future, as they were now entering and stepping forward into the professional world. She was also proud to announce that 7 students from this 25th graduating batch have already been placed. Shubhkriti Sharma, Dimpy Guleria , Kanika Virdi , Ravina Rajput, Shayista Sajad , Sonali Sharma , Mahima Grover, out which two are working in government sectors.
In the end, Mrs Sheetal Sharma, the Centre Manager of NIFD concluded the event with a vote of thanks for everyone. She also emphasised on the various courses that have been added to the current curriculum as Beauty n Grooming, Digital Fashion Illustration, Fashion Styling and even Basohli Painting.
