“Nursery of Terrorism Closed”: Yogi Adityanath Celebrates the Abrogation of Article 370

RAMGARH (JK), Sept 26: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, the National Conference (NC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a “warehouse” of terrorism. During a public rally in the Ramgarh border area of Samba district, he asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s abrogation of Article 370 effectively dismantled what he referred to as a “nursery of terrorism” in the region. Adityanath expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), upon forming a government in the Union Territory, would strive to re-establish the state’s historical grandeur, reminiscent of Maharaja Hari Singh’s era, whose domain once extended as far as Kabul.

Adityanath emphasized that the PDP, NC, and Congress had contributed significantly to the deterioration of law and order in Jammu and Kashmir, which he claims had become synonymous with terrorism and violence. He lauded the scrapping of Article 370 as a pivotal move that has ushered in peace, progress, and development in the region. Highlighting the historical context, he accused the Congress of fostering an environment where anti-Hindu sentiments proliferated, which he argued played a significant role in the emergence of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Drawing on historical examples, Adityanath stated that under the governance of the Congress and its allies, Jammu and Kashmir experienced rampant terrorist activities and widespread stone-pelting incidents, creating an atmosphere of fear and instability. He characterized this era as a dark period for the region, contrasting it with the current situation, which he claims has seen a marked decline in terrorism and violence, thanks to the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Adityanath framed the BJP’s approach as a fundamental shift in the narrative surrounding Jammu and Kashmir, arguing that terrorism is “now breathing its last” in the region. He declared that the cessation of stone-pelting incidents is a testament to the effectiveness of the BJP’s policies and governance. “This is not merely a change; it is a solution,” he asserted, positioning the BJP as the harbinger of peace and stability in a region long troubled by violence.

In a broader critique of the Congress party, Adityanath argued that the political landscape of India has been marred by the party’s legacy of divisiveness and failure to address key issues, including the long-standing Ayodhya dispute. He claimed that while India achieved independence in 1947, the Congress party has historically obstructed the resolution of significant national issues. “The name Congress is synonymous with problems, while the Bharatiya Janata Party embodies solutions,” he stated, accusing the Congress of using excuses to manipulate public perception and evade responsibility for its failures.

Adityanath’s rhetoric extended to a larger commentary on India’s societal challenges, alleging that terrorism, casteism, and separatism can be traced back to the Congress party’s policies. He asserted that the Congress nurtured a culture of regionalism and divisive politics, which has contributed to societal fragmentation in independent India. By fostering divisions along linguistic, regional, and caste lines, he claimed, the Congress has inadvertently sown the seeds of discord within the nation.

Furthermore, Adityanath criticized the treatment of the erstwhile Maharaja Hari Singh by the NC and Congress, suggesting that these parties failed to honor the legacy and contributions of a significant historical figure in Jammu and Kashmir’s history. He pledged that a BJP-led government would work towards restoring the historical significance and glory of the region, harking back to the times when Maharaja Hari Singh presided over a unified and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
