Dear Sir,
Jammu town continues to utilize plastic items, particularly polythene bags, despite the ban on single-use plastics that have been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Customers cheerfully welcome the plastic bags that shopkeepers continue to use when wrapping goods. Although the ban was in effect as of July 1, it appears that the concerned authorities have not conducted any unexpected checks in Jammu town. What about a ban on the “mineral water bottles” that are used in shows and parties and are hurled around? Then there are single-use plastics like those seen in chips and other food packaging. Will the government really outlaw them?
