Shiv Sena protested strongly - begged for restoration of democracy and statehood.
Jammu,17-06-2023: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Jammu and Kashmir unit and their allies staged a unique protest outside the Election Commission office in Jammu, begging for the rights of restoration of democracy and return of statehood, marking the completion of five years of non-democratic government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Led by Manish Sahni, president Shiv Sena J&K and their allies, Karni Sena, Sanik Samaj Party, and some social activists gathered holding placards with slogans such as
“एक सरकार का कार्यकाल चढ़ा गैर लोकतांत्रिक व्यवस्था की भेंट” ,
“राजा व्यापारी तो जनता भिखारी” , “राज्य दर्जा एवं लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया बहाल करो ” etc.
In his address, Sahni said that the following the collapse of the PDP-BJP coalition government in June 2018, the entire tenure of a democratic government has been ruled by governors and lieutenant governors.
Sahni remembers the words of Acharya Chanakya (Jis desh ka raja vyaparee ho- Janata banee bhikharee) , the people of Jammu and Kashmir today forced to begg for the restoration of their constitutional rights.
He said Perhaps due to the poor condition of the State BJP, the elections are not being given the green signal.
Sahni said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting J&K on 23rd June. If the promise of returning statehood is not fulfilled soon, Shiv Sainiks will oppose his visit by tying black bands.
On this occasion, spokespersons from Karni Sena Hoshiar Singh, SSP president J&K Col. SS Pathania, and social activist Satish Poonchi Strongly criticized the central government and seeks for statehood and early elections. On this occasion Charman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, president Kamghar Wing Raj Singh, Secretary Mamta Devi, Shashi Pal, Mangu Ram, Bablu, and many others were present.
