Congress Leaders Condemn Attack on Tara Chand; Calls for Enhanced Security and Arrest of Culprits
Jammu, October 6, 2024 — The recent attack on former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Shri Tara Chand has sparked widespread outrage and concern across Jammu and Kashmir. Shri Tara Chand, who is also the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate from Chhamb and the Working President of the Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), was attacked at his residence in Chak Malal, near Khour, on October 1st. In response to the incident, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee’s (JKPCC) OBC Department, led by Chairman Madan Lal Chalotra, immediately convened an online meeting. The meeting was marked by a unified condemnation of the attack, with participants expressing deep concern over the repeated targeting of Shri Tara Chand.
