Patanjali Ayurveda College Initiates Students with Sacred Thread Ceremony, Emphasizing Equality and Spirituality

Acharya Balkrishna highlights deeper significance of Yajnopavit and inclusivity for all students

Haridwar, Dec 25: Acharya Balkrishna, the visionary behind Patanjali Ayurved, shared a heartfelt message about a special ceremony at Patanjali Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya (Patanjali Bhartiya Ayurvigyan Evum Anusandhan Sansthan), marking the beginning of the academic journey for new students through the traditional Upanayan Sanskar, or sacred thread ceremony.

Describing the ritual as more than just a tradition, Acharya Balkrishna wrote, “Yajnopavit is not just a symbol, it is a festival of our good fortune.”

Three Debts of Every Human Being
He explained that the Yajnopavit signifies the three debts every person carries:

Deva Rina – Debt to the Divine

Rishi Rina – Debt to Teachers and Sages

Pitru Rina – Debt to Parents

The three threads of the sacred Yajnopavit serve as a reminder to honor these debts and live a life of duty, virtue, and respect.

Inclusivity and Equality at Patanjali
Acharya Balkrishna emphasized that the sacred thread ceremony at Patanjali is inclusive, transcending caste, sect, gender, or belief system. “If a person is not virtuous through their actions, being born in a particular caste does not make them worthy,” he noted.

At Patanjali, every student regardless of gender or background has equal access to higher knowledge, purity, and wisdom, reflecting the institution’s commitment to inclusivity and moral responsibility.

The ceremony reinforces Patanjali’s philosophy of combining spirituality with equality, inspiring students to embark on their educational journey with purpose and virtue.
