People’s trust and workers’ selfless dedication NC’s real strength: Sagar
Says NC will continue to champion J&K's democratic, constitutional rights until full statehood and constitutional guarantees are restored
Srinagar, 03 Aug: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar Monday said that the enduring trust of the people and the unwavering commitment of party workers constitute the National Conference’s greatest strength, asserting that no force can deter the party from steadfastly representing the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting of party functionaries, Sagar reaffirmed the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special constitutional position and full statehood. He said the party has, throughout its history, remained the foremost political voice safeguarding the rights, identity and dignity of the people and would continue to pursue these objectives through democratic, constitutional and peaceful means.
Calling upon party office-bearers and workers to intensify public outreach, Sagar urged them to remain united, disciplined and prepared to confront emerging political and organisational challenges with resolve and responsibility.
“The National Conference’s greatest asset is the unwavering faith of the people and the selfless dedication of its cadre. Every worker must strengthen the bond between the party and the people by carrying forward our mission with sincerity, unity and discipline,” he said.
Sagar maintained that depriving the people of Jammu and Kashmir of their constitutional and democratic rights cannot extinguish their aspirations, nor can it silence the National Conference’s voice. He said the party would continue to articulate the concerns and aspirations of the people in every legislative forum, democratic institution and appropriate constitutional platform across the country until their democratic, constitutional and legal rights are fully restored.
Reflecting on the developments since Dec 2014, Sagar observed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have endured prolonged political uncertainty, economic disruption and social hardship, leaving a profound impact on livelihoods and everyday life. In such circumstances, he said, extending maximum relief to the people and ensuring responsive governance must remain the foremost priority.
Commending the initiatives undertaken by the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Sagar said the administration is making determined efforts to address public grievances, improve the delivery of essential services, expedite development works and alleviate the hardships faced by the people. Despite operating under limited executive authority, financial constraints and multiple administrative challenges, he said the government has remained focused on responsive governance and is utilizing every available resource to serve the public.
Reiterating the party’s resolve, Sagar said the National Conference remains firmly committed to its promises and principles and will continue its democratic struggle with patience, determination and constitutional conviction until the dignity, identity, constitutional rights and full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir are restored.
