26-05-2023 : Vikar Rasool Wani, the Chief of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), expressed the unwavering faith of the people in the Congress Party and their commitment to support its endeavors in countering the divisive politics of the BJP. Wani made these remarks during a Party workers convention held in Budgam, Central Kashmir.
In his address, Wani urged the Party workers to prepare themselves for the upcoming challenges, particularly the ULB (Urban Local Bodies) and Panchayat Elections, and ensure the Congress Party’s resounding victory. He emphasized that the people believe in the Congress Party’s pro-people policies and its relentless struggle to protect their rights, which have come under threat since the BJP came to power at the center. Wani reiterated that serving the people to the best of its ability would remain the core principle of the Congress Party.
Highlighting the disillusionment felt by the people due to the BJP’s politics of hate and division for the sake of power, Wani pointed out that the recent Karnataka election verdict demonstrated that there is no room for hate-mongering and misleading policies. He held the BJP responsible for instilling fear and distress among the people, particularly minorities, in the country. Wani affirmed that the Congress Party is capable of delivering justice and working in the best interest of the people. He emphasized that the Congress Party has played a pivotal role in building the nation, brick by brick.
Vikar Rasool Wani reaffirmed the Congress Party’s commitment to fighting for the dignity and honor of the people and ensuring the restoration of statehood to J&K with all constitutional guarantees. Former JKPCC Chief, Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, described the Congress Party as the party of the people and emphasized its role in strengthening democratic institutions and protecting the rights of the people. Sayeed expressed confidence that the party would overcome the assaults on these institutions since the BJP came to power in 2014.
Senior Congress leaders, including Ghulam Nabi Monga and Mohd Anwar Bhat, along with DDC Member Anayatullah, addressed the convention and highlighted the significant contributions of the Congress Party towards the inclusive development of the country and J&K. They urged Party workers to remain steadfast in their commitment to serve the people. They also criticized the J&K government for its failure to address the issue of unemployment and other concerns affecting Jammu and Kashmir.
The convention saw the participation of DCC President Pulwama Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Incharge DCC President Budgam Er. Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Mir Mustafa Magami, Waseem Ahmad Shalla, Arshid Ahmad Tantray, Gh. Mohd Dar, Gh. Mohd Mir, and various other leaders, who also shared their thoughts on the occasion.
