Jammu 11th August, 2023 : Natrang Jammu in its endeavour to explore new horizons of creativity and innovations has taken a new initiative of transforming personalities by using latest developed methodologies of theatre and other allied arts. Padamshree Balwant Thakur, the brain behind this new initiative of Natrang after having travelled to the majority of the world and having interacted with the top international theatre practitioners/experts has come up with a new device of using theatre in transforming personalities. Theatre is one of the most effective mediums of education, learning and instruction. It has the amazing power of intensely engaging the participants, physically, intellectually and spiritually. Fact remains that every individual possesses some strikingly exceptional talent in him or her but we fail in identifying and bringing it out. Explaining about this new concept of work, Balwant Thakur informed that we have a very poor understanding about this magical art called theatre. Majority feel that it’s about making faces, bouncing here and there and entertaining spectators. Very few know that if an art like theatre is introduced in education and possibilities are explored further, it can bring revolution in transforming personalities and shaping minds. The present initiative of Natrang is focussed on that where youngsters are being given immense opportunities to bring out unlimited hidden abilities in them.
Adding further Balwant Thakur said that you come across graduates, post graduates and Phd holders having secured positions and distinctions but when asked to utter a few lines they are at loss of words. If asked to move on stage and address the public, you will find them in a palpitation state with shivering legs. They may have stored world knowledge but bitterly fail to utter a line. With lack of confidence to face the public suddenly they find their entire treasure of knowledge completely washed out. We all need to figure out what all is missing. There are certain inherent problems in our education which fail to provide the required confidence. To cover this gap Natrang as a mission has come up with new training programmes aimed at infusing confidence and inculcate the art of delivery.
Series of such initiatives have been planned and this opportunity is not being limited to students but is also being extended to professionals, corporate officials, business people and housewives. Through these programmes, Natrang is all set to strengthen the human resource of the city of Jammu. Jammu may be claiming to become a smart city but real smartness lies in our human resource and we all should make all out efforts in strengthening that.
Balwant Thakur desired all interested to contact Natrang office to take best benefit of such out of the world initiatives which Natrang is providing free of charge as a larger responsibility of Natrang aimed at raising the intellectual standards of the city.
