PM-KISAN 21st Instalment Today: PM Modi to Transfer Rs 18,000 Crore to 9 Crore Farmers

Prime Minister to release next PM-KISAN instalment from Coimbatore, Gujarat and other states to host local ceremonies

New Delhi, Nov 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Wednesday from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The event will be streamed nationwide, allowing thousands of farmers to tune in as the Prime Minister interacts with beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Gujarat will host a state-level ceremony in Gandhinagar, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi and Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani. Selected farmers will receive PM-KISAN approval letters and benefits under other agriculture and horticulture schemes. Vaghani said the instalment will benefit nine crore farmers nationwide, amounting to Rs 18,000 crore, with Rs 986 crore reaching 49.31 lakh farmer families in Gujarat.

Krishi Vigyan Kendras, ICAR centres, and agricultural universities across India will hold local gatherings where officials, farmers, and rural representatives can watch the Prime Minister’s address together.

Launched in 2019, PM-KISAN has become one of India’s largest direct benefit transfer programmes, providing Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three instalments. To date, over Rs 3.91 lakh crore has been transferred across 20 instalments. In Gujarat alone, farmers have received more than Rs 21,000 crore, helping families manage seasonal expenses without relying heavily on informal loans.

The scheme aims to provide assured income support to small and marginal farmers for crop-related and household needs. Direct transfers without intermediaries have contributed to its rapid growth and widespread adoption.
