PM Modi Announces Online Auction of Gifts, Proceeds to Support Namami Gange Mission

Citizens invited to bid for PM’s mementos; auction runs until October 2

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged citizens to participate in an online auction of gifts he has received over the years, with all proceeds directed towards the Namami Gange initiative.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Over the past few days, the online auction for the various gifts I have received during my different programmes has been underway. The auction includes very interesting works which illustrate the culture and creativity of India. The proceeds from the auction will go towards Namami Gange. Do take part in the auction.”

The e-auction, which started on September 17 coinciding with the Prime Minister’s birthday will conclude on October 2 at 5 pm. Items up for bidding include a silver model of the Ram Mandir, Kamdhenu with calf, a cane ship model, wooden charkha, and paintings such as the Kailasa Temple at Ellora, a G20 poster, and a framed Lord Buddha from Bihar.

Interested participants can visit pmmementos.gov.in
, register an account, and place bids. The portal, PM Mementos, is an open auction platform of the Government of India that allows registered users to participate in the online auction of displayed items.

The Namami Gange Programme, launched in June 2014 under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, is an integrated conservation mission with a budget of Rs 20,000 crore. The flagship initiative aims at pollution abatement, conservation, and rejuvenation of the Ganga river. Its activities are structured into entry level projects for immediate impact, medium term projects for a 5-year timeframe, and long-term projects spanning 10 years.
