PM Modi Emphasizes Grassroots Development for a Prosperous India in Chhattisgarh Address

03-10-2023 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the critical role of states, districts, and villages in realizing the dream of a developed India. Speaking at an event in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, which is currently in the midst of election season, PM Modi highlighted the significance of grassroots development.

During the event, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various projects with a total worth of Rs 26,000 crore, including the NMDC’s steel plant. He underlined the need for holistic development at all levels of governance, from the central government to states, districts, and villages, to achieve the vision of a prosperous Bharat (India).

PM Modi also drew attention to the substantial increase in budgetary allocations for railway projects in Chhattisgarh by the Central Government over the past nine years. He revealed that the allocations had witnessed a remarkable twenty-fold increase compared to the funding levels before 2014.

Specifically, PM Modi discussed the NMDC Steel Ltd steel plant located at Nagarnar in Bastar district, Chhattisgarh. He stressed that this plant would play a vital role in creating employment opportunities for approximately 50,000 young people in Bastar and the surrounding regions.

As part of the event, PM Modi virtually flagged off the Tadoki (Kanker district)-Raipur DEMU train service, further underscoring the government’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
