PM Modi Joins Christmas Service in Delhi, Extends Festive Greetings to Citizens
Prime Minister joins Christian community at Cathedral Church of the Redemption, emphasizes peace, compassion, and harmony
New Delhi, Dec 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday attended the Christmas morning service at the Cathedral Church of the Redemption in Delhi, joining Christians from the city and northern India in prayers, carols, and hymns. The service also featured a special prayer for the Prime Minister by Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Swarup, Bishop of Delhi.
“Attended the Christmas morning service at The Cathedral Church of the Redemption in Delhi. The service reflected the timeless message of love, peace, and compassion. May the spirit of Christmas inspire harmony and goodwill in our society,” Modi wrote on X.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister extended his greetings to citizens on the occasion of Christmas. “Wishing everyone a joyous Christmas filled with peace, compassion, and hope. May the teachings of Jesus Christ strengthen harmony in our society,” he posted.
Over the years, PM Modi has maintained regular engagement with the Christian community. In Easter 2023, he attended a programme at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Delhi, and in 2024, he participated in events hosted by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India and at the residence of Minister George Kurian.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also shared his greetings, writing on X: “Wishing everyone a joyous Christmas, overflowing with hope, love, and kindness. May Christ’s message inspire us to build stronger, more caring communities, and may his teachings strengthen our bonds and promote lasting peace.”
