PM Modi Pays Tribute to Former Union Minister Shivraj Patil Following His Demise
Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Maharashtra Assembly leader remembered for his long public service
New Delhi, Dec 12 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed grief over the passing of former Union minister Shivraj Patil, highlighting his dedication to public welfare and decades of political service.
Patil, who passed away at the age of 90 in his hometown of Latur, Maharashtra, held several key positions in his career, including MLA, MP, Union Minister, and Speaker of both the Maharashtra Assembly and the Lok Sabha.
“Saddened by the passing of Shri Shivraj Patil Ji. He was an experienced leader, having served in multiple capacities over his long years in public life,” Modi tweeted.
The Prime Minister added that Patil was deeply committed to contributing to society. “I have had many interactions with him over the years, the most recent being a visit to my residence a few months ago. My thoughts are with his family in this sad hour. Om Shanti,” he said.
