NEW DELHI, Apr 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday remembered Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary, praising his enduring contribution to building a more just and inclusive society.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister described Phule as a visionary who devoted his life to promoting fairness, education, and social reform. He underlined Phule’s pioneering efforts in advocating for women’s rights and uplifting disadvantaged communities at a time when such ideas faced strong resistance.
Marking the beginning of the reformer’s 200th birth anniversary commemorations, Modi expressed hope that Phule’s progressive ideas would continue to inspire future generations in their pursuit of social harmony and development.
He further noted that Phule’s work transformed education into a powerful means of empowerment, enabling marginalized sections to break barriers and achieve dignity and opportunity.
