PM Modi Says Trade Agreement Will Strengthen Make in India and Generate Employment
Prime Minister Says Framework Will Expand Opportunities for Farmers, MSMEs, and Startups
New Delhi, Feb. 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the interim trade agreement framework between India and the United States will reinforce the Make in India initiative by unlocking fresh opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses while creating employment for women and youth.
Describing the development as “great news for India and USA” in a post on X, Modi noted that the framework highlights the growing trust and momentum in bilateral relations. He also expressed appreciation for US President Donald Trump’s commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries.
According to the Prime Minister, the agreement is expected to benefit a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including MSMEs, startup innovators, and the fisheries sector, while driving large-scale job creation. He added that the partnership underscores a shared focus on innovation and is set to deepen investment and technology collaboration.
Modi further emphasised that the framework would help build resilient and reliable supply chains, contributing to broader global economic expansion. Reaffirming India’s long-term vision, he said the country remains dedicated to forging forward looking international partnerships that empower citizens and support the journey toward a “Viksit Bharat.”
