PM Modi Says Trade Deals Unlock New Opportunities for Young Indians

Prime Minister highlights government initiatives linking international trade deals with job creation during 18th Rozgar Mela

New Delhi, Jan 24 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized that India’s trade and mobility agreements with various countries are opening up fresh opportunities for the nation’s youth, both domestically and internationally.

Addressing the 18th Rozgar Mela via video conferencing from 45 locations across the country, Modi handed over 61,000 appointment letters electronically for various government positions.

“India is signing trade and mobility agreements with several countries. These agreements are bringing new avenues for the youth of our nation,” Modi said. He added that India has the largest young population in the world, and the government is actively working to create meaningful opportunities for them at home and abroad.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the Rozgar Mela is a flagship initiative aimed at converting policy vision into actionable employment outcomes, reflecting the government’s focus on job generation. Since the launch of these Melas, more than 11 lakh recruitment letters have been distributed nationwide.

The 18th edition saw newly selected candidates joining various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Higher Education.

Modi’s remarks underscore the government’s dual focus on leveraging international trade agreements and domestic initiatives to empower India’s young workforce and provide them with tangible career prospects.
