PM Modi to Host Special Dinner for NDA MPs Today to Finalise Roadmap, Poll Strategy
High-level interaction to reinforce alliance direction, assess Parliament agenda, and begin groundwork for upcoming state polls.
New Delhi, Dec 11 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday host a special dinner for all National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs at his official residence in New Delhi. The high-profile interaction, coming soon after the NDA’s victory in the Bihar Assembly Election, is aimed at reinforcing the alliance’s political direction and reviewing the government’s strategy for the ongoing Parliament session.
The dinner was initially planned during the previous session but was postponed due to the floods in Punjab. It now takes place at a strategically crucial moment, with the government pushing key legislative priorities and the NDA preparing for the Assembly Elections in Assam, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
Coordination Efforts in Full Swing
According to IANS, all NDA MPs are expected to attend the gathering. Senior Union ministers have been assigned coordination duties to ensure smooth participation across regions.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is overseeing arrangements for MPs from Odisha, while BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju are managing coordination for West Bengal and the Northeastern states, respectively.
Around 54 tables have been arranged for the event, with each seating eight MPs from the BJP and allied parties. A Union Minister will be present at every table, and the Prime Minister is expected to engage with MPs across all sections through the evening.
Governance and Parliament Agenda in Focus
Earlier this week, PM Modi briefed NDA MPs on the government’s broader roadmap, emphasising welfare schemes and governance reforms. More guidance is expected during tonight’s interaction, which has been planned as a platform for open discussion among alliance partners.
Sources indicated that the Prime Minister will also review the government’s legislative priorities and assess the progress of the ongoing Parliament session.
Early Talks on Key State Elections
Thursday’s meeting is also expected to feature preliminary discussions on the upcoming Assembly Elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Assam. Leaders from the NDA coalition are likely to review their preparedness and fine-tune early strategies for these high-stakes polls.
Senior ministers, floor leaders and MPs from all NDA parties are expected to attend the dinner.
