PM Modi to Launch ₹34,200 Crore Development Projects in Gujarat Today

Mega push to maritime, renewable energy, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors under ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme.

Bhavnagar, Sep 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of transformative development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore in Gujarat today, marking a major boost to infrastructure, maritime trade, renewable energy, and healthcare.

The high profile event at Jawahar Maidan, Bhavnagar, forms part of the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme, where the PM will unveil projects spanning multiple sectors.

A strong emphasis has been placed on the maritime sector, with projects worth over ₹7,870 crore. Highlights include the inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock, foundation stone laying of a new container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, and new cargo and container handling facilities at Paradip Port (Odisha). Major upgrades will also be launched at Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, Kamarajar Port (Tamil Nadu), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), and inland waterway hubs at Patna and Varanasi.

In Gujarat alone, projects worth ₹26,354 crore will be unveiled, covering renewable energy, healthcare, transport, and industrial growth. Key inaugurations include the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, and a 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers. The Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project and the complete solarisation of Dhordo village will further strengthen Gujarat’s clean energy footprint.

In healthcare and connectivity, the PM will lay foundation stones for expansions at Sir T. General Hospital (Bhavnagar) and Guru Govind Singh Government Hospital (Jamnagar), along with the four-laning of 70 km of national highways.

The Prime Minister will also conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region, envisioned as a smart, sustainable industrial city, while MoUs between government and private stakeholders will reinforce public-private partnerships for faster development.

These projects collectively aim to accelerate India’s growth trajectory, strengthen trade infrastructure, and promote sustainable development across Gujarat and beyond.
