PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹14,260-Crore Development Projects in Chhattisgarh on Nove
Chattisgarh, Oct 31 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on Saturday, November 1, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹14,260 crore, spanning infrastructure, energy, healthcare, industry, and rural livelihoods, according to an official release from his office on Friday.
The visit will begin with the Prime Minister’s interaction with 2,500 children successfully treated for congenital heart diseases during the ‘Gift of Life’ ceremony at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. He will also inaugurate “Shanti Shikhar”, a modern Brahma Kumaris centre for spiritual learning and meditation.
At 11:45 AM, PM Modi will unveil a statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha building, which is a green, solar-powered complex equipped with rainwater harvesting systems. He will inaugurate the new assembly building and address the gathering.
Later in the day, Modi will visit the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Ramanathapuram, where he will launch a digital museum portal and an e-book titled “Aadi Shourya.” A horse mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh will also be unveiled, commemorating the heroism of Chhattisgarh’s tribal freedom fighters.
As part of the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, marking 25 years of statehood, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects aimed at transforming key sectors including roads, healthcare, and energy.
To boost rural livelihoods, Modi will launch 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme blocks across nine districts and participate in the Griha Pravesh of 3.51 lakh completed houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), releasing ₹1,200 crore to benefit 3 lakh families.
In the infrastructure sector, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh Jharkhand border, a ₹3,150 crore project to enhance connectivity to coal mines, industrial hubs, and steel plants. He will also inaugurate upgradation works on NH-130D and NH-130C, improving access in tribal and remote areas.
In the energy domain, Modi will inaugurate the Inter-Regional Eastern-Western Grid Interconnection Project, adding 1,600 MW of power transfer capacity. He will also dedicate and initiate power projects worth ₹3,750 crore, aimed at strengthening Chhattisgarh’s energy infrastructure.
Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, works worth ₹1,860 crore will be inaugurated to improve rural electricity access, including nine new substations worth ₹480 crore, benefiting over 15 lakh people.
Furthering energy security, PM Modi will inaugurate HPCL’s Petroleum Oil Depot in Raipur and dedicate the 489 km Nagpur Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, linking 11 districts to India’s national gas grid for cleaner energy use.
In a push for industrial and healthcare expansion, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for two Smart Industrial Areas in Janjgir Champa and Rajnandgaon, as well as a Pharmaceutical Park in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. He will also initiate the construction of five new Government Medical Colleges and a Government Ayurveda College to strengthen healthcare access and promote traditional medicine.
The comprehensive set of projects underscores the Centre’s commitment to building a self-reliant and developed Chhattisgarh, driving inclusive growth through infrastructure modernization, rural empowerment, industrial advancement, and energy transformation.
