PM Modi Urges Citizens to Join Nation-Building Drive on Navaratri’s First Day
On Navaratri’s first day, the Prime Minister links festive celebrations with reduced GST rates and a renewed call for indigenous products.
NEW DELHI, Sep 22: Extending greetings on the first day of Navaratri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged citizens to actively contribute to building a developed and self-reliant India. He said this Navaratri holds added significance as the spirit of swadeshi gains fresh momentum alongside what he described as a “GST-saving festival.”
The Prime Minister highlighted that reduced GST rates on a wide range of items come into effect from Monday, easing the festive burden on households. Stressing the importance of indigenous products, he called on people to transform their homes and shops into symbols of swadeshi, noting that the philosophy not only powered India’s freedom struggle but also has the potential to strengthen national prosperity today.
“Every home should reflect the essence of swadeshi, and every shop should showcase indigenous goods,” Modi said, wishing citizens good fortune and health during the festive period.
