PM Modi Urges High Voter Turnout in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry

Prime Minister calls on youth and women to actively participate as voting begins across three regions

New Delhi, April 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday appealed to citizens of Assam, Kerala and Puducherry to turn out in large numbers and cast their votes as polling commenced for the Assembly elections.

In messages shared in English as well as regional languages, the Prime Minister emphasised the importance of greater participation, especially among young voters and women, highlighting their crucial role in strengthening democracy.

Encouraging voters in Assam, he expressed hope that people would celebrate the electoral process with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility. Addressing Kerala, he noted that a strong voter turnout would further energise the state’s democratic spirit.

For Puducherry, the Prime Minister stressed that every single vote holds significance in shaping the Union Territory’s future, urging citizens to actively engage in the electoral process.

Polling is underway for 126 Assembly seats in Assam, 140 seats in Kerala, and 30 elected seats in Puducherry, where additional members are nominated by the Centre.
