Prime Minister emphasises compassion, awareness, and collective action to promote emotional well-being
NEW DELHI, Oct 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged citizens to make discussions around mental health more mainstream, stressing the need for compassion and awareness in today’s fast paced world.
In his message on World Mental Health Day, PM Modi said the observance serves as a vital reminder that mental health is an integral part of overall well being.
“The World Mental Health Day serves as a powerful reminder that mental health is a fundamental part of our overall well-being,” the Prime Minister wrote on X.
“In a fast-paced world, this day underscores the importance of reflecting and extending compassion to others,” he said. “Let us also work collectively to create environments where conversations around mental health become more mainstream. My compliments to all those working in this field and helping others heal and find happiness.”
The World Health Organization (WHO) observes World Mental Health Day annually to raise awareness about mental health issues and to mobilise efforts globally in support of emotional well-being.
