PM Modi Vows to End ‘Maha Jungle Raj’ in Bengal, Accuses TMC of Hurting People to Oppose BJP

Addressing a rally in Nadia, Modi slams TMC for corruption and nepotism, urges voters to back BJP for a “double engine government”

Kolkata, Dec 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday targeted the Trinamool Congress (TMC), describing West Bengal’s governance as “maha jungle raj” marked by corruption, nepotism, and appeasement politics that have stalled development in the state.

Speaking at the Parivartan Sankalpa Sabha in Taherpur, Nadia district, via phone from Kolkata due to dense fog preventing his helicopter from landing, Modi called on the people to support the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections to establish a “double engine government.”

“Let the TMC oppose us as much as it wants, but the ruling party cannot hold people to ransom, make them suffer, and obstruct Bengal’s progress,” Modi said, asserting that his government would end the state’s prevailing ‘maha jungle raj.’

The Prime Minister also accused the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC of resisting the ongoing Special Identification and Registration (SIR) exercise to “shield infiltrators.” He highlighted growing popular sentiment at the grassroots level demanding change, quoting local voices saying, “Banchte chai, BJP tai” (We need BJP to live).

Modi’s rally marked the fourth Parivartan Sankalpa Sabha this year, reinforcing the BJP’s campaign message that promises development and accountability against TMC’s alleged misrule.
