Pogacar Sets Sights on Vuelta Crown to Complete Grand Tour Hat Trick
The Slovenian cycling star returns to Spain chasing his first Vuelta a Espana title and a rare sweep of cycling's three Grand Tours.
India, Aug. 21: Tadej Pogacar is targeting a historic achievement at the Vuelta a Espana as the Slovenian rider prepares to chase his first title in Spain and complete a Grand Tour hat-trick.
Pogacar has already established himself among the dominant figures in modern road cycling, with victories at the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia. A triumph at the Vuelta would give him titles in all three of cycling’s Grand Tours.
The Slovenian has described completing the set as a major personal ambition as he returns to the Spanish race. The demanding route is expected to test riders across mountain stages, time trials and long stretches of difficult terrain.
Pogacar’s presence is also expected to intensify competition for the overall classification, with several leading riders looking to challenge the pre-race favourite.
A successful campaign in Spain would add another significant milestone to Pogacar’s already remarkable career and place him among the select riders to have won all three Grand Tours.
