Jammu, 04-05-2022 : The PoJK Liberation Front (PoJKLF) has urged the public in general and PoJK refugees in particular to attend the May 8 event at the ground of Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar wherein tributes will be paid to the thousands of martyrs of PoJK killed at the hands of Pakistani invaders.
Addressing a press conference, Pritam Lal Sharma, Convener PoJKLF, Vikas Sharma & Vijay Sharma Co-Conveners PoJKLF said that the “Shraddhanjali evam Punyabhumi Smarn Sabha” being organized at the ground of Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar to pay tributes to those who got killed in PoJK in October 1947 at the hands of Pakistani mercanaries. “Thousands of families were forced to leave their motherland and spend life of refugees. The entire area was illegally occupied by Pakistan. And, worst was the scenario when successive governments in J&K ill-treated those refugees for seven long decades,” he mentioned.
‘The refugees of Chhamb were also not been able to go back to their motherland due to dubious policies of the then government at Centre. Now, its time to get up and launch a struggle for getting back our land and rights,” he added.
He further said that the programme has been organized to remember the sacrifices which PoJK people made at that time. Several dignitaries have also confirmed their participation in the event, he informed.
He urged the people from all walks of life to attend the said programme and acknowledge the cause of PoJK refugees and pay tributes to the martyrs.
Among those present on the occasion include Surinder Sharma, Om Parkash, Umesh Sharma, Pushp Sharma, Naresh Shastri, Govind Raj, Ramesh Lal, Jagdish Sudan, Sunil Khajuria, Deputy Kumar, Smt. Lalita Devi, Smt. Simran Sharma, Smt. Sudesh Sharma and Smt. Kiran Devi besides others.
