Pooja Bhatt Calls Singlehood a ‘Sacred Mission’, Ignites Social Media Debate
Actor filmmaker’s Instagram post reignites conversations on identity, independence, and modern relationships
Mumbai, Nov 20 : Actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has once again stirred a meaningful conversation this time on relationships, identity, and the evolving idea of singlehood.
Sharing a striking photo on Instagram, where sunlight filters through curtains casting soft shadows on her face, Pooja paired the image with a thought-provoking caption: “Singleness is not a curse. It is a sacred assignment.”
Her words quickly gained traction, resonating with many who view singlehood as a phase of self-growth rather than societal failure.
Pooja’s decades long journey in Indian cinema began with the 1989 television film Daddy. She rose to national fame with the romantic comedy Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, one of her most popular and highest grossing films. Her career thereafter featured powerful performances in Sadak, Junoon, Naraaz, Angrakshak, Chaahat, Tamanna, Border, Angaaray, and Zakhm.
After a brief hiatus, Pooja made a notable comeback with the 2024 English language coming of age series Big Girls Don’t Cry, created by Nitya Mehra and produced by Sudhanshu Saria. The show featured actors such as Mukul Chadda, Raima Sen, Zoya Hussain, Avantika, Tenzin Lhakyila, Aneet Padda, Dalai, Vidushi, and Afrah Sayed.
She also stepped into reality TV with Bigg Boss OTT 2, where Elvish Yadav created history as the first wildcard winner, with Abhishek Malhan as runner up.
Looking ahead, Pooja is set for an intriguing return to the big screen. She will portray the mother of Panchayat star Jitendra Kumar in a film rooted in India’s pigeon flying culture a story capturing the tradition of training homing pigeons and the unique communities that cherish it.
