Prateek Yadav, Younger Son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Passes Away at 38

Businessman and fitness entrepreneur, who stayed away from politics, was brought to a civil hospital where doctors declared him dead.

LUCKNOW, May 13 : Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav, died in Lucknow on Wednesday at the age of 38.
According to reports, he was taken to a civil hospital in the state capital after his health deteriorated, where doctors declared him dead. The sudden demise has cast a shadow of grief over the Yadav family and supporters of the Samajwadi Party.
Prateek was married to Aparna Yadav and largely maintained a low public profile despite belonging to one of Uttar Pradesh’s most influential political families. Unlike several members of the Yadav household, he chose to remain away from active politics and focused on business and fitness ventures.
Officials said a post mortem examination is expected to be conducted at King George’s Medical University to ascertain the exact cause of death. Preliminary observations reportedly found no external injury marks on the body.
Born to Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife Sadhna Gupta, Prateek pursued higher studies at the University of Leeds. He later entered the real estate sector and also established himself in the fitness industry.
He owned a gym in Lucknow named “The Fitness Planet” and was known among associates for his interest in health and wellness.
Family members, political leaders and supporters have expressed condolences following the news of his untimely death.
