Pre-Election Blitz: BJP’s Powerhouse Leaders Set to Energize Jammu and Kashmir for 2024 Lok Sabha Polls
29-09-2023 : In preparation for the forthcoming 2024 general elections in India, a prominent lineup of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is gearing up to lead the party’s campaign in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This strategic move aims to boost the morale of party workers and set the right tone for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May next year.
Sources within the party have revealed that several high-profile BJP leaders are slated to address massive rallies and launch various development projects in Jammu and Kashmir during the months of October and November. While the exact itinerary for these VVIP visits has not been finalized, the plan is likely to kick off after the assembly elections in four states—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.
The tour is expected to span two to three days, depending on the schedule and commitments of Prime Minister Modi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already given his consent to the tour program. The union territory government is also in the process of preparing a comprehensive list of projects and welfare schemes to be inaugurated and launched by the Prime Minister during his visit.
Among the key highlights of this upcoming campaign, it is anticipated that PM Modi will inaugurate the AIIMS OPD at Awantipora and address a massive rally in Anantnag. The Anantnag gathering is expected to draw an audience of over 2 lakh people, showcasing the BJP’s efforts to connect with the electorate in the region.
Additionally, other prominent BJP leaders such as S. Jaishankar, Nitin Gadkari, and Rajnath Singh are also expected to hold rallies in Jammu and Kashmir before the formal announcement of the Lok Sabha elections.
Ravinder Raina, the President of BJP’s Jammu & Kashmir unit, confirmed this development, emphasizing that while specific dates have yet to be finalized, the visits of PM Modi, Amit Shah, and other top ministers are in the pipeline. He revealed that discussions took place during a meeting with Amit Shah in New Delhi, where they formally requested the party’s top leadership to hold rallies in Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, BJP leadership has extended an invitation to party president Jagat Prakash Nadda for a two to three-day visit to the union territory. While the details of Nadda’s visit are still pending confirmation, it is anticipated that he will make the trip before the official announcement of the Parliamentary polls.
