Preity Zinta Says NRIs Feel a Stronger Connection to Indian Culture Abroad

The actor says audiences living overseas continue to seek stories and experiences that remind them of their Indian roots.

MUMBAI, Sep 14: Actress Preity Zinta has spoken about the enduring connection between Indian cinema and audiences living overseas, saying non-resident Indians often seek a stronger sense of their cultural identity when they are away from home.

Zinta said Indian films continue to resonate with overseas audiences because they offer a connection to language, traditions and familiar cultural experiences. She observed that people living abroad can sometimes feel even more attached to their Indian identity.

The actor noted that this cultural bond remains an important reason why Indian cinema enjoys a dedicated following outside the country.

Her comments underline the role of films in connecting the Indian diaspora with traditions and emotions associated with home.
