President Droupadi Murmu Offers Condolences for Lives Lost in J&K Road Accident on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

New Delhi, 29-03-2024 : President Droupadi Murmu expressed her heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives in a road accident that occurred in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Ten individuals lost their lives when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) veered off the Jammu-Srinagar national highway and plunged into a gorge in Ramban district during the early hours of the day. The vehicle, identified as a Chevrolet Tavera, was en route from Srinagar to Jammu when the incident transpired, tumbling into a 300-foot gorge near the Battery Cheshma area of the district around 1:15 am. President Murmu, in a post shared in Hindi on X, expressed her deep sadness at the news and extended her condolences to the grieving families affected by this tragedy.

“The news of people getting killed after a vehicle fell into a gorge in the Ramban area on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway is very sad. I offer my condolences to the bereaved families,” Murmu said in a post in Hindi on X.
