President Murmu Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Social Justice
President Murmu underscores government’s commitment to social justice, poverty alleviation, and corruption control in Parliament address.
New Delhi, Jan 28 : President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday emphasized the Union government’s commitment to social justice while addressing a joint sitting of Parliament. Her remarks came amid occasional disruptions from the Opposition benches.
Highlighting the progress made over the last decade, the President noted that social security benefits now reach nearly 95 crore citizens, and around 25 crore people have moved out of poverty during this period. “My government is committed to true social justice,” she said, adding that ongoing efforts in the current term aim to further empower economically disadvantaged groups.
President Murmu also pointed to the government’s success in tackling corruption and ensuring the proper use of public funds, underscoring initiatives aimed at accountability and transparent governance.
